Fitness testing for Year 11 GCSE PE students

On Friday 27th January, the Year 11 GCSE PE pupils travelled to the University of Surrey for a day of sport and fitness testing. While Josh Smart and Eddie Lee participated in VO2 max tests – a measure of aerobic power in athletes – everyone participated in strength, speed and agility tests. Some volunteers also had their fat percentage measured by the other pupils. Overall, the trip was enlightening for the group, teaching them about what happens to the body during exercise and how to improve sports performance.
