Labour MP Fiona Mactaggart speaks to Sixth Form

On January 20th, the Labour MP for Slough, Fiona Mactaggart, was the guest speaker at the weekly Sixth Form Special. The Slough MP spoke a little about herself and the causes which she has supported, before opening the floor to questions. She faced a wide range of questions, from electoral reform to the current state of the Labour Party and her views on Jeremy Corbyn. This was particularly interesting for the Year 13s who heard Alok Sharma speak last year, as it provided an alternative view. After the talk, the Politics students were able to have lunch with Fiona, which provided the chance for further questions, helping them in their study. Overall it was a very informative and interesting talk and helped to increase the Sixth Form’s involvement in politics.
