Originally from Wokingham, Ben read Natural Sciences at Cambridge for his
undergraduate and Masters degrees, specialising in Geology. He spent a
few years in the City as a financial analyst, but for much of his time since
university he undertook research on archaeological digs in Egypt as a
geoarchaeologist. Working with archaeologists and Egyptologists, he was
responsible for understanding the history of the landscape and the location
of former branches of the Nile.
After completing his PhD in Geography and Archaeology in 2017, which investigated links between past
environmental changes in the Nile Delta and the emergence of State authority in Ancient Egypt, he joined
Reading Blue Coat in 2018.
Outside Reading Blue Coat and Geography, Ben enjoys playing piano and trombone, yoga, waterskiing,
and long country walks with his wife.
