Miss Sophie Beaveridge
After teaching at a school in Hampshire for five years, Sophie made the move to Blue Coat in 2017 to teach English and to support the Drama department’s extra-curricular programme. She directed the school musical ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ in February 2019, which gave her an ideal outlet for her passion for musical theatre.
Sophie went to The Abbey School and went on to study at Loughborough University from 2009-12, before attending Reading University for her teacher training. During her time at RBCS Sophie has developed a strong rapport with the staff and students and is really looking forward to her new role as Head of Year 8 in September 2020. One of her priorities, as a teacher, is to encourage the students to have a positive attitude towards learning and life; she is a firm believer in a ‘growth’ mind set and of self-reflection. She is also a bit of an enigma: she is a teacher who doesn’t drink coffee; she should, however, take out shares in Cadbury’s.
Outside of work, Sophie is an event rider and she competes her horse most weekends in a number of beautiful locations. She has travelled abroad to compete for GB before and she hopes to do so again on her young horse, Illuminati, when he’s ready.
